# Install as App (PWA)

Put your AVCodex agent on a field tech's phone home screen, on a programmer's laptop, or on the iPad mounted next to a control panel. One tap and the agent opens full-screen, no browser chrome, no URL bar.

Your AVCodex agent can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Users get a home-screen icon and a full-screen experience without going through the App Store or Play Store. This is the fastest path to getting an agent into the hands of field techs, programmers, and on-site staff during a deployment.

## What a PWA Gives You

## Setting Up the PWA

**1. Open the Share Page**

In your AVCodex agent, click **Share** in the navigation.

**2. Find Deploy as PWA**

Look for the **Deploy as PWA** card and click **Add Deployment**.

**3. Copy Your Agent URL**

The dialog shows the URL users will visit to install the PWA. Copy it. You'll send this to field techs, share it on QR-code support stickers in conference rooms, or post it on the integrator's internal portal.

**4. Generate Splash Screens**

Click **Refresh** in the Splash Screen section to generate branded splash screens. These appear when users launch your PWA from the home screen.

## User Install Instructions

Share these with the people who will use the agent (field techs, programmers, end clients).

### On iPhone (iOS)

1. Open the agent URL in **Safari**.
2. Tap the **Share** button (square with arrow).
3. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**.
4. Name the app and tap **Add**.

### On Android

1. Open the agent URL in **Chrome**.
2. Tap the **menu** (three dots).
3. Tap **Add to Home screen** or **Install app**.
4. Follow the prompts to install.

### On Desktop (Chrome)

1. Open the agent URL in Chrome.
2. Click the **install icon** in the address bar (or menu > Install).
3. Click **Install** in the prompt.

## PWA Customization

The PWA inherits your agent's branding:

- **App icon**: Set in Build > Customize.
- **App name**: Your agent's name.
- **Brand color**: Your agent's primary color.
- **Splash screen**: Generated from your logo and brand color.

To refresh the PWA appearance:

1. Go to **Build** > **Customize**.
2. Update your logo and brand color.
3. Go to **Share** > **Deploy as PWA**.
4. Click **Refresh** to regenerate splash screens.

## Updates

Changes to the agent deploy automatically:

- Name, logo, and brand colors update on next launch.
- Content and settings sync in real time.
- Users see updates the next time they reopen the PWA.

If you need to push an immediate update (after fixing a bad answer in your agent's training, for example), use the **Refresh Now** button in the PWA deployment dialog to trigger a cache refresh.

## Troubleshooting

### Install Option Not Appearing

PWA install requires:

1. **HTTPS**: The agent must be served over HTTPS (all AVCodex agents use HTTPS).
2. **Safari on iOS**: Other iOS browsers don't support PWA install.
3. **Chrome on Android**: Use Chrome for the most reliable Android install flow.

### Splash Screen Not Showing

1. Confirm you generated splash screens in the PWA dialog.
2. Your agent needs a logo set for splash screens to generate.
3. Click **Refresh** to regenerate after changing the logo.

### App Not Updating

PWAs cache content for speed. To see updates:

1. Close the app completely.
2. Reopen. Updates load automatically.
3. Or use **Refresh Now** in the PWA dialog to push an immediate cache refresh.
