# Dropbox Integration

Plenty of AV firms keep their AS-builts, manufacturer spec libraries, and client commissioning packets in Dropbox. Connect AVCodex and the agent searches, browses, organizes, and shares straight from the chat.

Connect Dropbox to your AVCodex agent so it can browse folders, search for files, get metadata, create folders, generate sharing links, and move files through natural conversation.

## What the AI Can Do

Once connected, your agent gains six tools:

### Search Options

The search tool supports filtering by file category:
- Documents, spreadsheets, presentations (AS-builts, BOMs, design submittals)
- Images, audio, video (rack photos, room walkthroughs)
- Folders

## Connecting Dropbox

  **1.**
    **Open the Integrations tab**

    In your agent's builder, navigate to the **Build** section and select the **Integrations** tab. Find **Dropbox** in the list of available integrations.

    **Click Connect**

    Click the **Connect** button next to Dropbox. You will be redirected to Dropbox's authorization page.

  **3.**
    **Authorize access**

    Sign in with your Dropbox account and approve the requested permissions.

  **4.**
    **Test it out**

    Once connected, open the chat preview and try:
    - "List the files in my Dropbox root"
    - "Search for the Acme HQ AS-built"
    - "Create a shared link for the Crestron spec sheet"

## How It Works

### File Browsing

The agent navigates Dropbox using folder paths. Ask it to browse a specific directory or start from the root:

- "What's in my Dropbox?" lists the root directory
- "Show me the files in /Projects/Acme-HQ-2026" browses a specific project folder
- Recursive listing is supported for deep folder exploration

### Sharing Links

The agent can create or retrieve shared links for any file:

- If a shared link already exists, it returns the existing one
- If not, it creates a new public link
- Useful for sending a manufacturer spec sheet to a dealer rep, or an AS-built to a client, mid-conversation

### File Organization

The agent can reorganize your Dropbox:

- "Create a new folder called 'Closeout' in /Projects/Acme-HQ-2026"
- "Move the commissioning checklist to the Closeout folder"
- "Rename the BOM file to 'BOM-AS-Built-Final.xlsx'"

### Metadata

Each file and folder includes:
- Name and path
- File size
- Last modified date
- File type (file or folder)

## Billing
