Notion Integration

Most AV firms keep their SOPs, programmer module libraries, and design engineer's compatibility notes in Notion. Connect AVCodex to Notion and your agent can search, read, and update them as the team's institutional memory.

Connect Notion to your AVCodex agent so it can search your workspace, read page content, query databases, and create or update pages through natural conversation.

Once connected, your agent gains five tools:

Content Support#

The integration reads and renders Notion's block types as readable text:

• Paragraphs, headings (H1, H2, H3)
• Bulleted and numbered lists
• To-do items (with checkbox state, useful for commissioning checklists)
• Code blocks (with language, useful for SIMPL# snippets and Q-SYS Lua)
• Quotes and callouts
• Toggles and dividers
• Images (as links)

Property Types#

Database queries return all standard Notion property types:

• Title, rich text, number, select, multi-select
• Date, checkbox, URL, email, phone number
• Status, people, relation

1. Open the Integrations tab

In your agent's builder, navigate to the Build section and select the Integrations tab. Find Notion in the list of available integrations.

2. Click Connect

Click the Connect button next to Notion. You will be redirected to Notion's authorization page.

3. Select pages to share

Notion uses a permission model where you explicitly choose which pages and databases the integration can access. Select the pages you want your agent to work with (your SOPs hub, your Q-SYS Lua module library, your design engineer's product compatibility notes).

> Note: The integration can only access pages you explicitly share during authorization. To add more pages later, reconnect the integration and select additional pages.

4. Test it out

Once connected, open the chat preview and try: - "Search my Notion for the Crestron commissioning SOP" - "Show me the open commissioning tasks database" - "Create a new page called 'Acme HQ Site Visit Notes' with today's findings"

Notion databases are a powerful feature, and the agent can interact with them directly. Useful for AV firms that run project trackers, room readiness boards, or programmer module catalogs in Notion:

Querying#

The agent can query databases with filters and sorting:

• "Show me all commissioning tasks with status 'In Progress'"
• "List dealer contacts sorted by last modified date"
• "Find all projects assigned to the Q-SYS programming team"

Creating Rows#

The agent can add new entries to databases:

• "Add a new task called 'Review Boardroom 4 NVX redundancy' to the Engineering Tasks database"
• "Create a new dealer contact entry for the Crestron rep at Acme Distributors"

Updating#

The agent can update existing page properties:

• "Mark the 'Acme HQ Boardroom 4 commissioning' task as complete"
• "Update the project deadline to the Friday before the live event"
• "Archive the old site visit notes page"

• Doc search: "Find our internal Crestron SIMPL# coding standard for variable naming"

Notion tool calls use your standard LLM token billing. There is no separate per-call fee. Reading pages with large content blocks (a 50-room AS-built notes page) consumes more tokens.
